Berlin Activist Group Makes Mark In Community
'Grassroots Berlin' recently organized an Earth Day cleanup event in town, and it is hoping to expand its reach with new members.

BERLIN, CT — Fresh off a successful Earth Day clean-up effort, a local grassroots organization is seeking more volunteers for future community endeavors.
In celebration of Earth Day, local community action group Grassroots Berlin organized a large-scale cleanup of the Ragged Mountain Trails on Sunday, April 27.

"Volunteers kicked off from the trailhead on West Lane in Berlin to remove litter and debris, restoring the area’s natural beauty and making it safer for hikers and wildlife alike," wrote Grassroots Berlin.
Community members collected a variety of large and small refuse discarded as far back as half a mile from the trailhead, bagging it for proper disposal in coordination with the Town of Berlin.

The effort drew residents of all ages and highlighted the group’s commitment to hands-on
environmental stewardship.
Grassroots Berlin is an all-volunteer organization that fosters community involvement and civic awareness.
The group hosts regular Saturday morning meetups at Provision Coffee, where members discuss
local and national issues, organize events, and brainstorm ways to engage more residents in meaningful action.
