Berlin GOP Unveils Endorsed Candidate Slate For Municipal Elections

Heading the ticket is incumbent Mayor Mark Kaczynski, who is seeking another term as Berlin's top elected official.

BERLIN, CT — Berlin's GOP has released its list of endorsed candidates for the Nov. 4 municipal elections, led by Republican incumbent Mayor Mark Kaczynski.

The Berlin Republican Town Committee unanimously endorsed Kaczynsky for another term as mayor during its recent GOP nominating convention earlier this month.

Charles Paonessa, Donna Veach, and Sandy Coppola for Berlin Town Council.

Sal Bordonaro and George Millerd for the Berlin Board of Finance.

John Frink for Berlin Board of Assessment Appeals.

John Diakun for the Berlin Police Commission.

"John will bring his experience with police matters as a town attorney for the City of New Britain and be an asset to the police commission," wrote the GOP in a statement released Wednesday, July 30.

The GOP said the goal is simple.

"Mayor Mark and the Republican team look forward to having the opportunity to continue making Berlin a better place to live and visit," wrote Republicans.

The local GOP said, under Kaczynski, "Berlin has seen tremendous economic development and growth, financial stability, and investments in our town and education that provide the highest quality of services."

Republicans said Kacyzski "has been committed to minimizing tax increases while not compromising town or educational services."

"Through effective leadership," the town’s sound financial stability has resulted in a Standard & Poor's Global Rating of ‘AAA,' wrote Republicans.
