Berlin Liquor Store Fined For Selling To Minors: State

BERLIN, CT — A local liquor store has been fined and suspended by state officials for selling alcohol to a minor.
According to the state Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Commission, the owners of The Wine Merchants, 717 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, have already paid a $1,000 fine in connection with the incident.
The fine, state officials said, was for the sale/delivery of alcohol to a minor.

In Connecticut, the legal age to purchase alcoholic beverages is 21.
Meanwhile, the store will also have its liquor license temporarily suspended for a day on Monday, July 7, as part of the penalty, DCP said.
