Berlin Nonprofit Awarded Thousands In Grant Money
A New Britain-based foundation has announced a group of grant recipients — and a Berlin organization made the list.
BERLIN, CT — The Berlin Upbeat Program has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, officials announced.
The program, run by Berlin Public Schools, is designed to get children involved in community service and teach them leadership skills. It was given an "Education" grant from the William E. Attwood Jr. Fund, Vic and Jane Darnell Fund and William H. Judd, Jr. Fund for Leadership Development Training.
Berlin Public Schools will use the money to support its leadership development training program, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain said in a news release.
