"The enforcement is designed to encourage and confirm that local businesses are being diligent in discouraging young adults from substance abuse, as well as ensuring businesses are adhering to long-established requirements set forth by the State of Connecticut," wrote the BPD in a statement.

Berlin police commended the other six liquor sellers for compliance: Friendly Mart, 164 New Britain Road; Plaza Liquors, 863 Beckley Road; Heritage Wine & Spirits, 1943 Berlin Turnpike; Berlin Spirits, 118 Mill Street; C&C Wine & Spirits, 1207 Farmington Ave.; and the Super Stop & Shop Market, 1135 Farmington Ave.
