Curley brings over a decade of municipal leadership and public administration experience to this role.
He most recently served as the first selectman of Portland, where he oversaw a municipal budget
of over $40 million, managed a staff of approximately 80 employees and spearheaded numerous projects.
In Berlin, Curley plans to focus on enhancing economic development, strengthening
infrastructure, and promoting operational efficiency.
One of his first tasks will be to begin preparing the next municipal budget.
“After meeting with the town council, Berlin felt like a natural fit for me,” said Curley in a statement. “Berlin’s rich history, dynamic economic landscape, and welcoming community make this an incredible opportunity to lead and make a meaningful difference. I am honored to bring my
passion for public service to this role.”
Curley has a strong background in finance, budgeting, and policy development.
His earlier roles include serving as town clerk of Portland, and positions in the private sector as an accountant and accounting analyst.
Curley has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Connecticut
and a bachelor of science in accounting from Bryant University.
“I am thrilled to join the Berlin community and work collaboratively with the Town Council,
staff, and residents to address challenges and build on opportunities,” said Curley. “Together, we can ensure Berlin continues to thrive and remains a wonderful place to live, work,
and visit.”
