Berlin Rec Seeks 'Junior' Camp Counselors

The program is for teens 13-15, with participants assisting paid counselors administering summer camp programs.

BERLIN, CT — Thetown's recreation department is accepting applications for younger teens aged 13-15 to participate in the Summer Fun "junior counselor" program.

This program has teens of this age assisting the town's paid counselors during the Summer Fun at the Creek day camp program.

While there is a $100-per-week fee for this program (with additional fees for expanded hours), the junior counselor program could be a gateway toward future, paid employment in the program when turning 16.

Junior counselors are only eligible for the program until they turn 16, meaning if they're birthday is over the summer, the can no longer participate after the birthday.

The deadline to apply is Friday, May 24, at 1 p.m.
