Berlin Senior Housing Proposal Topic Of Info Forum Next Week
The Town of Berlin Friday, Nov. 22, is hosting a community information forum regarding the old Knights of Columbus site.
BERLIN, CT — The Town of Berlin is hosting a public information session next week on plans to sell a town-owned property to a developer who would build a large, senior citizen housing complex.
The meeting will take place at the Berlin Senior Center, 33 Colonial Drive, Berlin, on Friday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m., with the session also being available via the Zoom virtual platform.
At issue is the former Knights of Columbus property at 33 Percival Ave., Berlin, which is owned by the Town of Berlin.

The Berlin Town Council has ruled the site would be the best location for a senior housing complex, which is part of the town's plan of conservation and development.

Council members have already authorized the town manager to execute a purchase agreement with Vesta Corp./O'Riordan Migan Architects to design and develop a 70-unit senior housing facility there.
The Nov. 22 community meeting will allow Vesta to unveil its plans for the project to the local community, especially its senior citizens.
