Berlin Woman Fatally Injured When Hit by Car

The accident occurred on the Berlin Turnpike Thursday night.

The Berlin Police Department is investigating a pedestrian — car crash on the Berlin Turnpike Thursday night that fatally injured a Berlin woman.

Police said the accident occurred at approximately 7:28 p.m. Nov. 5, in the area of 1376 Berlin Turnpike.

A car driven by Samantha Pelow, 29, of Berlin was southbound on the Berlin Turnpike when it struck Lisa D’Addario, 56, also of Berlin, according to police. D’Addario was taken to Hartford Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad is assisting in the investigation. The crash was witnessed and the operator of the car and witnesses are cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
