Masuk 11, Berlin 1
The Berlin High School boys' lacrosse team traveled to Monroe and faced a tough Masuk team on Tuesday, April 17th. The Redcoats finished the game on the wrong side of a 11-1 contest. Berlin's lone goal was scored by Nick Mangiafico.
"I felt like our team came into the game flat, and against a talented team like Masuk, they will hurt you," said head coach, Scott Rossi. "We're a young team with a fairly difficult schedule for a first-year program, but this is exactly what I wanted. The boys need to play talented teams and get a feel for what it takes to be a successful tournament team. An easier schedule during the regular season wouldn't have prepared them for what they would face if they qualify."

Northwest Catholic 15, Berlin 6
The Redcoats faced a young, talented Northwest team on Thursday night at Scalise Field. Although the defense played outstanding throughout the night, Berlin midfielders struggled to stop NWC's fast-breaking offense and failed to find any rhythm on offense.

"This was a classic case of our skilled players trying to do too much," said Coach Rossi. "Being patient with the ball on offense is crucial for our team; it gives everyone a chance to get more involved and our boys on defense have a chance to catch their breath. Unfortunately, the result against NWC was too many balls forced into the middle and turnovers."
Nick Mangiafico scored two of Berlin's five goals. Brandon Ralph, Greg Buck, and Ricky Mullins had a goal apiece for the Redcoats.
Bunnell 8, Berlin 7
On Saturday morning, the BHS boys' lacrosse team lost a heartbreaker to Bunnell High School in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
"It went right down to the wire, and I'm proud of how hard the team played. I could feel the boys' confidence growing as we kept things close throughout the game," said Coach Rossi. "I wish we could have had a better result at the end, but we made a couple of costly mistakes and Bunnell took advantage."
Also not making things easy for the Redcoats was Bunnell's outstanding goaltending.
"With 18 saves on the day, their goalie really was the deciding factor in today's contest," said Rossi. "We put some quality shots on the cage, and he really stood on his head and made some beautiful saves. He deserves a lot of credit for the win."
For the Redcoats, Sean Sullivan, Nick Mangiafico, and Greg Buck each had two goals. Brandon Ralph also added a goal of his own in the losing effort.
