Burst Pipe Damages Berlin-Peck Memorial Library

The facility has reopened on a limited basis; Children's Section remains closed.

The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library reopened Thursday on a limited basis as repairs continue to fix damage caused by a burst water pipe.

The pipe burst on Tuesday and forced closure of the facility.

The Adult Section and Main Service Desk areas are open today. However, the Children’s Section will remain closed until further notice. The Community Center will also remain closed until further notice, according to an announcement posted on the town’s website.

According to WFSB, more than 800 books valued at more than $15,000 were damaged or destroyed.

The Friends of Berlin-Peck Memorial Library posted on their Facebook page that the book sale is closed on Thursday. “We hope to reopen the book sale on Friday, February 19.”
