Senior Kate Piotrowicz raised her school record in the discus to 105-5 inches. Class MM was extremely competitive and although she placed sixth was still able to qualify for the State Open due to her terrific performance. She followed up that performance with a seventh place finish in the Shot with a season best mark of 32-8.
Catherine Voelpel lowered her school record in the 400m to 57.04. She placed second overall to the second fastest 400m runner in the country from Hillhouse High School.

"There were so many good times in the 400m from the other classes that we knew she would have to get a great time to be seeded in the final heat at the State Open," Berlin coach Steve Soucy said. "Catherine really came through and ran a great race. She then followed up with a fourth place finish in the 200m."
Senior Alex Carbonell placed third overall in the 800m with a time of 2:23.70. "Alex ran a good race and will also be seeded high for the Open," Soucy said. "Alex has worked at this race all year and achieved one of the goals on her list by qualifying for the Open."
The 4x400m relay team dropped close to four seconds from their fastest time of the year to take second place. They finished in 4:06.70 seconds and will be seeded 12th Overall at the Open.
Senior Madison Tavarozzi has been sidelined since April with a hamstring pull. "We really had no idea if she would even be able to finish the 100m," Soucy said. "She ran a good time of 13.82 in her first race back. Madison works really hard and has put so much into her four years at Berlin High in both indoor track and outdoor track, that I was really happy she was able to finish her career on a positive note."
