Larson Visits Comcast, Senior Center
Congressman praises Comcast for job creation.
This morning Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) met with Comcast leadership for a tour of their training facility before visiting the Berlin Senior Center to meet with seniors and participate in a walkthrough of the center.
Comcast has been one of the largest job creators in the state in recent years, increasing its workforce in-state by 40 percent since 2007. Last summer the company announced that they would fill over 100 new call center jobs in Connecticut, with the ultimate goal of bringing its in-state employment total to close to 1,600 employees. During the tour and meeting with Executive Vice President Mary McLaughlin, the Congressman received an update on these efforts.
“Comcast has shown an impressive commitment and investment in our community in recent years,” Congressman Larson said. “Touring their facility today and meeting the fantastic men and women who make up their workforce was a terrific experience. I look forward to seeing more great things from Comcast in the future.”
Following his visit to Comcast, Congressman Larson visited the Berlin Senior Center for a walkthrough of the facility and an opportunity to meet local seniors. During the course of his visit the Congressman reiterated his commitment to support Social Security and Medicare as well as his opposition to the recently-passed GOP budget that would make significant cuts to the social safety net and end Medicare as it currently exists.
