Local Man Accused Of Breaking Into Car, Stealing Items: Berlin PD
The 34-year-old suspect is also facing several charges related to a Hartford arrest last month and larceny charges out of state.

BERLIN, CT — Local police have accused a Berlin man of breaking into a car, stealing items, and then fleeing the scene before being taken into custody.
According to the Berlin Police Department Friday, East Berlin resident Jason Angel Santos, 34, was taken into custody Tuesday morning, July 8.
Online court records state Santos was charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest.

He is being held on $20,000 bond and will next appear in New Britain Superior Court Aug. 28, online court records indicate.
In addition, Santos is facing several charges stemming from a June 13 arrest by the Hartford Police Department, charges that include third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal mischief, threatening, and fifth-degree larceny.

He is expected in Hartford Superior Court for those charges on July 28, records show.
Regarding the Berlin incident this week, the BPD said officers were called to Stony Mill Lane at about 4:56 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, for a report of a vehicle burglary.
Police said the suspect took personal items and fled the scene on foot, with police finding him shortly thereafter in the area of Worthington Manor.
"A brief foot pursuit ensued, during which officers apprehended the suspect before he could flee into a wooded area," wrote the BPD.
Police said Santos was taken into custody and transported to The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain for evaluation.
A backpack belonging to the victim containing $26 was recovered at the scene of the arrest.
Police said, in addition to Connecticut charges, Santos also has multiple, non-extraditable out-of-state warrants for larceny.
