In Memoriam: Louis J. Kurzyn

Louis J. Kurzyn, 83, of Kensington, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2016, with his family at his side.

Louis was born on December 14, 1932, in New Britain.

He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve from 1952 to 1960. Childhood schoolmates, Louis and Cecilia Maciag Kurzyn married on July 2, 1960, and were blessed with three daughters, Cheryl, Lori & Linda.

Louis spent his 26 year career with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. He was a proud member of St. Paul’s Choir, St. Paul’s Rosary Makers and Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, and enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, listening to music, and watching documentaries. Louis is remembered by his loving wife, children and their families, including nine grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main Street, Kensington on Sunday, February 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 29, at St. Paul Catholic Church 485 Alling St. Kensington, at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributing to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choice.
