Motorcyclist Critical After Berlin Crash, Witness Sought: PD: UPDATE
The Berlin PD is asking for the public's help in identifying a motorist who may have seen the crash that badly injured a Middletown man.
BERLIN, CT — A motorcyclist critically injured after a motorcycle collided with another vehicle at a busy Berlin intersection Thursday evening has been identified as a 34-year-old Middletown man.
According to the Berlin Police Department, which issued an update on the situation Friday morning, both local police and fire departments were called at about 6 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Lower Lane.
"Responding officers determined that a motorcycle traveling west on Farmington Avenue collided with a vehicle going east waiting to turn left into the Stop & Shop driveway," wrote Berlin PD Deputy Chief Drew Gallupe in a statement Friday.

Gallupe said the victim, who was not identified, remained in critical condition Friday morning and, in a later update, was still critical.
Police said the operator of the vehicle was not injured.
The accident, which closed the roadway until 8:45 p.m. Thursday, is being investigated by the Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad.
The BPD, meanwhile, posted images of a Toyota Rav-4 SUV that is believed to have been in the area of the crash at the time it happened.
Police said the vehicle pulled into Stop & Shop after the crash, then continued into the parking area.
Berlin police said they want to question the driver and/or any occupants as part of the crash probe.
"We believe the occupants of the Toyota witnessed the crash and we would like to speak with them," wrote Gallupe.
Anyone with information on the accident, witnessed it, or know the identity of the owner of the Toyota is asked to call Berlin Police Officer Brendan Clark at 860-828-7080.
