Obesity's Health Pitfalls Topic Of Forum

The Central Connecticut Health District is hosting the virtual forum for the towns of Berlin, Wethersfield, Newington and Rocky Hill.

A regional health district serving four area towns is hosting a "Community Conversation" on the health issues associated with obesity and being overweight on Monday evening.

The online, virtual forum is slated to take place at 6 p.m. via ZOOM, according to the Rocky Hill-based Central Connecticut Health District.

The CCHD serves the towns of Rocky Hill, Berlin, Wethersfield and Newington.

The "Community Conversations" series is a regular program by the CCHD to educate the public about health issues and to help the district plan to work with their communities to deal with those issues.

"These conversations would be open to all residents of our communities and will be a facilitated discussion designed to gather information about how our residents are affected by public health issues," wrote the CCHD in an announcement.

"Additionally, the conversations will help to prioritize health issues and highlight potential community resources that could be used to address them in the future."

This first community conversation will be limited to the first 35 people who register.
