TAVAROZZI, Carlo Gabriele

Carlo Gabriele Tavarozzi, son of the late Guiseppe and Maddalena Tavarozzi, and beloved husband of Carol (Daverio) Tavarozzi, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in his beautiful home that he designed in Rocky Hill, CT. He leaves behind his three children Carl and wife Jackie of Cromwell, Diana and husband Ryan Brown of Ellington, and Michael and wife Dana of Berlin, and his five adored grandchildren Taylor, Marissa, Madison, Juliana, and Kyle, along with his many siblings, namely brother Tony and his wife Antoinette Tavarozzi, sisters Maria DiTota, Pina and husband Joe Gworek, Tina Tavarozzi, and Mickey and husband Frank Saracino, and his many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Henry Daverio and Vincenzo DiTota, and his young niece Amanda Kalino.

Carlo was born on February 27, 1933 in Cascalenda Italy then moved to Montreal at the age of 19 before settling into his home state of Connecticut, where he met the love of his life, Carol. A structural engineer, Carlo had become highly regarded in the field of structural engineering, opening his own firm, T&T Structural, Inc., 27 years ago, where he continued to work. Carlo and his loving wife Carol celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past year, where an overwhelming amount of family and friends came to share their love with them. His family, especially his grandchildren, was the light of his life. His love and guidance will continue to be an inspiration for his family and friends and he has left a lifetime impression for those he leaves behind.

An accomplished navigator, he spent his summers cruising on his boats with his family, who enjoy sharing stories of their many escapades. He charted many courses throughout Long Island Sound and the New England Coastline. He was past commodore of the Mystic Yacht Club and involved with the New Britain Power Squadron. Carlo enjoyed traveling with his wife Carol to Italy and the Caribbean, and in 2006 cruised from England to NY on the Queen Mary. One of the highlights of his travels was taking has entire family to a villa on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, which his children and grandchildren will reminisce about forever. He and Carol spent their winter months at their second home on the beach in Hillsboro Beach, FL, where he made a great deal of friends. He became involved with the mayor of Hillsboro Beach and he was able to have funds appropriated so that he could design and have built an additional bocce court and gathering place for the community to enjoy. A strong fan of his grandchildren's activities, Carlo was a devoted supporter and fan favorite at many of their sporting events and other venues.

Funeral Services to celebrate Carlo's life will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at Brooklawn, 511 Brook St. Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church, Rocky Hill at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain.
