BERLIN, CT — A year ago, the owners of a beloved Berlin food market were amid one of their busiest times of the year while taking orders for Super Bowl parties the following weekend.

Then disaster struck on Feb. 3, 2024.

Fire ravaged the building of Kensington Market, 1014 Farmington Ave., Berlin. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the damage was done.

"Everyone was safe, but the market was damaged in ways that we did not even yet comprehend or know. It took 10 months to come back from that fire and they were hard months."

Market owners, however, credited the community for its support during that rough time and its re-opening late last year.

"Our community, our followers, our customers, and our friends were there every step of the way," wrote the market.

"We are grateful for where we are now, and we are grateful for all of you."
