Police ID Berlin Motorcycle Crash Victim

A Berlin man suffered serious head injuries in the crash Thursday afternoon.

BERLIN, CT - A 26-year-old Berlin man suffered serious head injuries and reportedly is in stable condition at Hartford Hospital when he crashed his motorcycle on Chamberlain Highway on Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the motorcyclist as Scott Harkness, according to NBC Connecticut. It is unclear whether Harkness was wearing a helmet as he was thrown at least 20 feet from the two-wheeler and a helmet was found at the scene.

Chamberlain Highway, between Southington and Orchard roads, was closed for about three hours as police investigated the 1 p.m. crash.
