Water-Logged Berlin Farm Aims To Recover From Deluge
The owners of one Berlin farm have posted stunning images of what Tuesday's July 4 tempest did to their crops and facility.

BERLIN, CT — For the farmer, a drought is, perhaps, his or her's worst nightmare.
But not too far behind is the opposite of that and on Tuesday, that's exactly what happened in north and central Connecticut, when a tremendous deluge soaked that part of the state.
The July 4 storm impacted Cold Spring Brook Farm in Berlin significantly, flooding crops and prompting the farm's staff to vent a bit on social media Tuesday.

"What do you do when 3 inches of rain falls on your farm in a 30-minute period, washing out your roads, flattening your crops and flooding your fields? " wrote the farm via Facebook.
The answer, according to Cold Spring Brook Farm, is simple.

"You keep planting," wrote the farm, citing the heroic efforts of employees who quickly braved the mud and water to replant crops.
Of course, such natural disasters, which can cause most folks inconvenience, are pretty significant to those who make their living working with nature.
"And if your favorite farmer seems a little grumpy just remember that he or she is beset by catastrophe every day and must find away to smile through it all," wrote the farm.
