Youth Fishing Derbies Start Saturday In Berlin, Register Now

The first derby on April 20 is for kids aged 3-7 with a second derby on April 27 for those aged 8-15.

BERLIN, CT — It's still not too late to register for one of Berlin's most anticipated spring events, the annual Berlin Parks and Recreation Department fishing derbies.

The first one, for ages 3-7, starts Saturday, April 20, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Sage Park Pond, 1499 Berlin Turnpike.

Registration is required in advance to qualify for prizes that come with the derby, with the deadline for the first derby being 12:45 p.m. on Friday, April 19.

A second fishing derby for those aged 8-15 will take place on Saturday, April 27, at the same location and time.

The registration deadline for that derby is 12:45 p.m. on Friday, April 26.

Registration can be done online, in person at the Berlin Parks and Recreation office, or by phone by calling the department.

The fishing derbies are rain or shine unless there is a severe storm.
