Branford Board of Education's 1.77% Budget Hike Up For Hearing
The Branford RTM Education Committee will hear the Branford Board of Education's Fiscal Year 2020 budget request on Monday, April 1st.

BRANFORD, CT - The Branford RTM Education Committee will hear the Branford Board of Education's Fiscal Year 2020 budget request on Monday, April 1st.
The meeting will be held at 7 p. m. at the Branford Fire Headquarters, 2nd Floor.
Presenting the requested Board of Education budget to the RTM Education Committee will be Branford Board of Education Chairman, Michael Krause and Branford Superintendent of Schools, Hamlet Hernandez.

The RTM Committee members are: Representatives Eddie Prete, Peter Jackson, G. David Wells, Darren Lawler and RTM Education Committee Chairman, Frank Twohill.
Public comments and questions are welcome during the two public comment periods that will be on the Committee agenda.

The Branford Board of Education budget comprises over half of the entire Town of Branford budget. At this time, the Board of Education's budget request is a 1.77% increase over the current year, or $ 1,005,377 more to $57,784,600.
No votes will be taken on April 1st. The RTM Education Committee will be voting on all budgets before it at their May Committee meeting.
The members of the Branford public are welcome to attend the RTM Education Committee meeting on April 1st as well as all future Committee meetings. Input from public members are always welcome.
During that same meeting, proposed budgets will also be presented by the James Blackstone Memorial Library, Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library, the Adult Education Program and the School Age Child Care Program.
