Branford Scouting (Cub Pack 633, Troop 633/1633 & Venturing 633)

Branford Scouting has been building citizenship, leadership skills, and a spirit of adventure in youth for over 10 years, serving ages 5–20 through four dynamic programs. Through experiential learning, Branford scouts experience adventures from ice climbing to sailing in the Florida Keys, with campouts all year round for our older scouts. Our commitment to country is reflected in where we meet—serving our veterans at Branford’s VFW Post 12106—and through meaningful experiences like our recent trip to Washington, D.C., where scouts participated in the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and presented a wreath in honor of our fallen heroes. Our younger Cub Scouts also demonstrate patriotism by marching in parades and placing flags at cemeteries, just like their older peers. They enjoy fun and discovery at weekly meetings and through memorable outings, such as an overnight at the Norwalk Maritime Center, sleeping aboard the World War II battleship USS Massachusetts, and exploring the EcoTarium museum. This year, our Cubs will experience an evening at the New England Air Museum. Branford Scouting services the town of Branford and well beyond. On its Branford Facebook page, police said this about there newest member: "Please join us in welcoming BPD's newest member of the patrol division, Officer Erdos. "Officer Erdos previously worked as a patrol officer with the New Haven Police Department after graduating from the New Haven Police Academy back in 2016. While working for the New Haven Police Department, he partook in a vast variety of calls for service and tended to quality of life issues within the City of New Haven. "He graduated from Platt Technical High school in 2011. After graduating, he began working in the auto collision and repair field, until becoming a police officer in 2016. Officer Erdos is looking forward to serving the community of Branford for the next 25+ years. "Welcome Officer Erdos!"
