Branford’s Dan Cosgrove Shelter Caring For Abandoned Dog

BRANFORD, CT - This dog was abandoned near Vaiuso's Farm on Hosley Ave in Branford, according to a social media post by the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter.

The Shelter says:

“She is extremely scared and shakes and barks in her kennel. It took quite some time before she was able to be safely captured.

“She is a female , she has no collar, and unfortunately we cannot handle her safely yet to check for a microchip. This time of year we tend to have a lot of dogs abandoned in our community.

“Please talk with family and friends about responsible pet ownership and if they are feeling like they cannot keep their pet, please talk with them about responsible ways of finding appropriate placement for them. Abandoning animals causes issues for the animal itself and can endanger people.
