Branford Unemployment Falls to 6.4 Percent

After a year of ups and downs, Branford's unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest level of 2013.

According to the latest figures released by the Connecticut Department of Labor, Branford's unemployment in October sat at 6.4 percent.

Lowest Rate of the Year

In September, the town's unemployment rate was at 6.8. And it was at 7.3 percent for the month of August.

Additionally, the department's figures also showed the labor force in Branford rose slightly from 16,305 in September to 16,341 in October.

The town's highest reported unemployment rate so far this year was in January, when 7.4 percent of the town reported they were out of work.

State, National Unemployment Rate

In Connecticut, the pool of jobless people last month sat at 7.5 percent overall. Nationally, the United State's unemployment rate is 7.0 percent.
