Former Branford Standout Named New Lacrosse Coach In North Haven
A former All-State player from Branford has been named the new boys lacrosse coach at North Haven High School, officials announced Monday.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — Former All-State lacrosse player Justin Blood has been named the new head coach for the North Haven High School boys’ lacrosse program, Athletic Director Steve Blumenthal announced Monday.
Blood, who has been on the lacrosse coaching staff at Notre Dame-West Haven since 2018, was a standout player at Branford High School where he was a captain and earned All-SCC and All-State honors. He is also a current offensive player for the Team Poland lacrosse team, according to Blumenthal.
“Coach Blood brings a renewed energy and enthusiasm to the North Haven High School Boys’ Lacrosse Programs,” Blumenthal said in a news release. “Along with his wealth of knowledge and experience, we expect a resurgence in the boys’ lacrosse program in 2022. We are very excited to have Justin as a head coach.”

Blood is a current Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital, a Registered Nurse at the Yale Health Center, and Combat Medic/Healthcare Specialist with the United States Army. He attended the WGU School of Business and Salve Regina University School of Nursing.
When he is not working, he enjoys fishing, boating, and spending time with family and currently lives in North Haven with his wife and two cats, according to the news release.
