Hoop Dreams: Elks' Basketball Free Throw Contest For Kids Saturday

BRANFORD, CT — The national Elks 'Through the Hoop Shoot' program has been "developing and reinforcing grit for nearly 50 years, long before researchers and experts concluded that grit is so important for our children," the national club notes.

The Branford Elks club is in on the action. The national free-throw shooting contest for kids ages 8 to 13 is set for Saturday at 12:30 p.m., at the Joe Trapasso gym. Local winners will advance to the next level.

Pre-registration is required, but walk-ins will be accepted according to Branford Parks & Rec.
