ICYMI: Pick-up Truck Crashes into Branford Building

The building incurred significant damage.

BRANFORD, CT — Branford Police and Fire Department personnel responded to 317 East Main Street last evening at about 8:15 p.m. after a pick-up truck crashed into the building, police said.

Police Lt. Kris Hormuth, who commands the evening shift, said the operator of the truck (operator information unavailable) was in the parking lot and had backed away from the building when the rear of the truck became lodged on a telephone pole guide wire.

As the operator tried to un-lodge the truck, she accelerated and the truck lurched forward, striking the building, causing significant damage, police said.
