Library Evacuated After Bomb Threat, Streets Closed: Branford Police

BRANFORD, CT — In an update Tuesday night, police said the building has been cleared, and area roads have been reopened.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

(Original post) BRANFORD, CT — Police said an emailed bomb threat was received by the staff of the Blackstone Memorial Library on Tuesday afternoon.

The building has been evacuated and is in the process of being cleared with the assistance of New Haven police bomb squad, police said. Surrounding streets have been closed to traffic.

"We request the public avoid the area and thank the public for their patience as we clear the building. Investigation into the threat is ongoing," police said.
