With Parks & Rec For 26+ Years, Dale Izzo Named New Director
The new director of Branford Parks, Recreation, & Senior Programming, Izzo was chosen to be the "leader of all things recreation."

BRANFORD, CT — The town of Branford has named the new Director of Branford Parks, Recreation, & Senior Programming.
Dale Izzo, who has served with the Parks & Rec department for more than 26 years beginning as a seasonal lifeguard and after-school camp leader, was most recently the department's assistant director.
In an announcement post to Facebook, the department noted she, "Has been chosen to be the new leader of all things recreation with the Town of Branford."

"It comes as no surprise with her type of demeanor, passion, experience, knowledge, creativity, and strategic thinking, that we are all excited for this new chapter to unfold," the post reads.

"Among the many goals she has in store, one of the top ones is to have the Joseph Trapasso Community House to be the focal point of our community." Parks & Rec noted.
"If you haven’t met Dale, or haven’t seen her yet since the promotion, please stop by to meet and congratulate her," the Facebook post invites. "Both we and her are excited to show what the future has in store As a wise man once said, 'Be the best that you can be,' and Dale will uphold that mission. Congratulations Dale!"
In December 2024, Alex Palluzzi, Jr., officially retired after half a century at Parks & Rec. He was the director for 32 of those 50 years.
