$50,000 Winning Lottery Ticket Sold In Bridgeport
A local resident is the lucky winner, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — An unnamed Bridgeport resident is $50,000 richer this week after claiming a winning POWERBALL lottery ticket purchased locally, the Connecticut Lottery announced.
On Friday, the person claimed the winning ticket, which had been bought at Uptown News & Variety on Main Street.
The Connecticut Lottery no longer publishes winners’ names without their written consent, in accordance with Sec. 3(d) of Public Act 25-112, according to officials.

POWERBALL, which costs $2 to play, is a multi-state game, where jackpots start at $20 million. To win $50,000, a player must match four balls and the Powerball; odds of achieving that are 1 in 913,130, according to lottery officials.
Drawings for POWERBALL occur on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
