9 East Bridgeport Gang Members Arrested On Drug Charges: State Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Following five months of investigation, police arrested nine gang members from the East End of the city on a series of drug charges, state police announced Wednesday. Police say investigators made dozens of controlled heroin and crack cocaine buys from suspects.

The investigations stemmed from a series of calls Bridgeport police responded to on Newfield Avenue, including assaults, narcotics violations, shootings, firearm offenses, robberies and two homicides. Police said the gang members targeted Newfield Avenue to sell drugs, carry guns illegally and create an atmosphere of intimidation.

Police said two handguns, one rifle, one facsimilie firearm, 133 rounds of live ammunition, a bullet-proof vest with steel plates, two grams of raw heroin, 34.4 grams of crack cocaine, 32 ecstasy pills, 30.6 grams of marijuana, $2,010 in cash as well as heroin packaging baggies, bands and scales were seized during the sweep.

The nine suspects arrested were held on bonds ranging from $25,000 to $300,000. According to State Police, those arrested are:

• Andrew Stephenson, 21, of Bridgeport
• Tyron Heard, 19, of Stratford
• Keith Teasley, 23, of Bridgeport
• Gregory Williams, 32, of Hamden
• Rahim Tucker, 27, of Stratford
• Demetrius Barnes, 19, of Bridgeport
• Alice Felder, 28, of Bridgeport
• Jasmine Moye, 26, of Lithonia, GA
