• Bridgeport Council rivals named committee co-chairs despite 'motor-boating' accusation (ctpost.com) — Two Bridgeport City Council rivals, Maria Pereira and Aidee Nieves, have been unexpectedly paired as co-chairs of the powerful Miscellaneous Matters Committee, which reviews legal settlements and board appointments. Despite a prior complaint Pereira filed with Bridgeport police over an election-night incident, both women say they can work together under new council president Jeanette Herron’s leadership.
   

• Thieves smash glass, steal packages at Bridgeport apartment building, property manager says (stamfordadvocate.com) — Tenants at the Siena Apartments on North Street in Bridgeport had their lobby door smashed and several delivered packages stolen Friday afternoon, according to the property manager. She says video shows two males breaking the glass with a hammer before grabbing packages, with about $1,600 in damage reported to Bridgeport police just days before Christmas.
   

• FBI-Backed Sting Targeting Online Child Predators Nets Bridgeport Man: PD (dailyvoice.com) — A recent FBI-assisted sting targeting suspected online child predators resulted in the arrest of a Bridgeport man alongside two others from New Haven County. North Haven police say the multi-agency operation led to serious charges involving attempted sexual assault and child endangerment, and they emphasize ongoing efforts to protect youth from online exploitation.
