Bridgeport Considering New Technology To Enhance Public Safety: Report
The equipment could be used in numerous public safety situations.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport is considering the possibility of purchasing high-tech drones to help combat crime and enhance public safety, the Connecticut Post reported.
The police department already has some older drones that it uses, but they are outdated and not as robust as the newer ones on the market, according to officials.
Both the Hartford and New Haven police departments reportedly use high-tech drones to help with observing large events and other public safety functions, such as search and rescue operations.

Bridgeport currently does not have funds budgeted for a new fleet of drones, but officials are exploring options for a future purchase.
