Bridgeport Fire Damages Home, Displaces 9: Fire Department

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Nine people and two pets have been temporarily displaced following a fire on Friday in the 1600 block of North Avenue in Bridgeport, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported in the afternoon blaze, and the American Red Cross is assisting the six adults, three children and pets with their immediate needs.

Upon arrival at the scene, Bridgeport firefighters found that a second floor rear bedroom was on fire, and were able to quickly extinguish it.

Members of the Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the cause of the fire.

The American Red Cross responders who assisting the nine people and pets included Sheri MacKenzie, Ken Sneider, Max Morenberg, Jay Kuczenski, and Alex Kuczenski.
