Bridgeport Firefighter Under Investigation: Official
The firefighter was recently arrested in another jurisdiction, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 40-year-old Bridgeport firefighter is under investigation by the city, following her recent arrest in Southington.
Shpresa Bungu, a five-year veteran of the fire department, was arrested by Southington police on May 24, and was charged with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct. She is free after posting a $1,000 bond.
Information about the arrest, which occurred at 2:39 p.m. on the 24th, has not been released.

"All names from this incident are statutorily sealed," said Southington Police Capt. James Armack in a statement to Patch. "We will not be putting out any press releases for this incident."
Details about the city's investigation of the case were not disclosed, but Bungu is currently not on administrative leave, according to Bridgeport Public Information Officer Shawnna White.

"At this time, the Department is reviewing the police report," White told Patch, adding that the next steps have not yet been determined.
Bungu, who has not yet entered a plea, according to court records, is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on July 31.
