Bridgeport Police Department Fires Officer Over Repeated Domestic Violence Violations
The officer was terminated after an Internal Affairs investigation and an administrative hearing.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Police Officer Dani Soto was fired from the department this week, after Police Chief Roderick Porter said the officer "violated several department policies and procedures as it relates to conduct."
Soto, 48, was arrested in the summer of 2024 on multiple charges of stalking, unlawful restraint and harassment in connection with domestic violence cases in Bridgeport, and is facing similar charges out of Derby.
At the time of Soto's arrest, Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran said, "The Bridgeport Police Department is dedicated to building trust and legitimacy within the communities we serve by making every effort to maintain a permanent culture of transparency and accountability."

Soto was placed on unpaid administrative at the time. He had been a member of the Bridgeport Police Force for close to eight years.
"An Internal Affairs investigation and an administrative hearing resulted in finding that Ofc. Soto violated several department policies and procedures as it relates to conduct," Porter wrote in a statement to Patch. "Ofc. Soto was terminated from the Bridgeport Police Department effective Tuesday, July 15th, 2025."

Porter did not disclose additional details about the hearing or termination.
The Connecticut Post reports that Soto is alleged to have repeatedly showed up unannounced at the victim's job, and sent her dozens of harassing email messages, among other alleged violations.
