Bridgeport Police Mourn Loss Of Officer

The Bridgeport Police Department is mourning the death of a 21-year member of their department.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The city's police department is mourning the loss of one of their own. The department announced on Facebook Wednesday that Sgt. Jessica R. Tilson lost her fight with cancer on Sept. 16.

According to a report from the Connecticut Post, Tilson was born in Bridgeport and is a 21-year veteran with the department. In her career, she earnd the Medal of Merit and was a member of the Police Honor Guard.

She is survived by her daughter Ainsley, a large extended family, and dear friend and companion Capt. Steven Lougal.

Tilson's wake will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Abriola Funeral Home in Trumbull. Her funeral mass will be held Friday at the Olivet Congregational Church located at 2101 Main Street at 10 a.m.
