DUI Arrest After Vehicle Crashes Into Bridgeport Police Cruiser: PD
The police officer was reportedly taken to the hospital as a precaution.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 30-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on a charge of illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol on Sunday, after the man crashed head-on into a Bridgeport police cruiser near Seaside Park, according to police.
The police officer in the cruiser was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center as a precaution, the Connecticut Post reported.
According to police, the crash occurred at about 8:45 p.m.

Arrested was Chery Lyvenson, who police said "admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages." In addition to the DUI charge, Lyvenson was also charged with:
- Reckless driving
- Failure to take a sobriety test
He was held in lieu of bail of $15,000, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
