Fire Damages Bridgeport Building Under Construction: City
The Tuesday morning fire is under investigation.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Firefighters battled an early morning blaze on Goddard Avenue Tuesday.
No one was injured in the incident, and the building was not occupied at the time, according to city spokeswoman Shawnna White.
The Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the structure fire around 3:50 a.m.

Firefighters transmitted a second alarm due to heavy fire throughout the structure, according to White.
The fire was extinguished in about 45 minutes, she said.

The Fire Marshal’s office is still investigating the cause and origin of the fire as of Tuesday afternoon.
According to White, the building had been under construction following a previous fire.
