Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Car: Bridgeport Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Friday afternoon, according to police.

At 4:03 p.m. emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle versus a motorcycle, at 1376 Stratford Avenue.

Members of the fire department were tending to a male motorcyclist and he sustained critical injuries, police said. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital.

"The scene was reconstructed, and a preliminary investigation was completed, and it was determined a 2017 gray Volkswagen Passat was traveling north on Carroll Avenue and being operated by a 34-year-old male of Easton, Ct," police said in a news release. "The Volkswagen Passat attempted to cross the intersection of Carroll Avenue and Stratford Avenue and it was struck by a 2005 white Honda CBR600 motorcycle traveling east on Stratford Avenue. The 2005 white Honda CBR600 was being operated by a 36-year-old male of Bridgeport, Ct."

The motorcyclist later died at the hospital and the driver of the Passat sustained minor injuries, police said.
