Security Guard Shot In Face At Bridgeport YMCA: Police
The security guard was found bleeding from his face, and a man is accused of shooting him with a pepper spray gun, Bridgeport police said.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A security guard at the Bridgeport YMCA was reportedly shot in the face with a pepper spray gun late Thursday night, Bridgeport police said.
Officers were dispatched to the YMCA at around 11:23 p.m. Thursday after the Bridgeport Emergency Communication Center received a call that a security guard was shot in the face.
The guard was found "bleeding from his face" and he was hospitalized for his injuries, Bridgeport police said.

Police arrested Billy Pettway after they were told that a man, later identified as him, was "being disruptive in the lobby" and had discharged a pepper spray gun while at the security office window.

Officers found a pepper spray gun and cartridges in Pettway's room at the YMCA, police said.

Pettway was detained on charges of second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon, and second-degree breach of peace, police said. His bond was set at $60,000.
The Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to ventilate the "strong pepper spray" smell in the building's lobby and security office, police said.
