The Cheshire Rams girls soccer team defeated Shelton to take their fifth SCC title on Saturday in East Haven. Cheshire improved to 13-4-2 with Natalie Reynolds making nine saves for Cheshire. The CIAC announced last week it has postponed the start of state tournaments after the Halloween storm shut down games and practices for about a week. State tournaments in soccer, field hockey, volleyball and swimming will now begin Thursday. Pairings will be announced Wednesday. Volleyball and field hockey state championship games will be held Nov. 18-19. Girls and boys soccer championship games will be played the following weekend.
