Garage Fire Involving Diesel Tank Extinguished In Cheshire: Officials
Crews responded to a report of a fire involving a diesel tank at a business in Cheshire, according to officials.
CHESHIRE, CT — Firefighters extinguished a garage fire that involved a diesel tank at a business in Cheshire on Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials.
The Cheshire Fire Department responded around 4 p.m. on Oct. 22 to Waterbury Road on the report of a commercial structure fire involving a diesel tank.
“On arrival crews had fire showing from a 40x70 noncombustible metal frame garage,” officials wrote in a post on the Cheshire Fire Department’s Facebook page. “Units deployed multiple handlines and a blitz fire portable deck gun to extinguish the fire and cool multiple compressed gas tanks. The fire was under control at 4:21pm. DEEP was notified for oil and gas run off. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported and the fire in under investigation by the Cheshire Fire Marshal's office. Prospect and Wolcott fire departments were called for mutual aid standby during the incident.”
