Head Coach Rob Schaefer commented about his varsity team winning 2nd Place on Saturday. “What a great day for the CHS Rams. Outracing state powerhouse New Canaan is going to build our confidence as the season progresses. Running only a step behind Glastonbury, last year’s state champion, is also a huge step in the right direction. Our girls are running great. Stepping it up big time are Eva Curran, Emily D’Souza, and Ava Ciccone. They are such a solid core for our team. They are improving each time we race.” “Throwing freshman Sage Falcon into the varsity race was a challenge for one so new to high school cross country , yet she handled the pressure with poise and courage. She is such a difference maker for us.”
On the JV side his team also finished well. Seven of his student-athletes finished in the Top 5, Top 10, Top 15 & Top 20 but that did not mean his other student-athletes did not do well, they did. Coming in at #1 Sarah Curran time 21:39, #2 Alexa Tirado 22:39, #4 Eva Morse 23:13, #10 Madeleine Tessier 23:53, #14 Sara Danese 24:02, #16 Jocelyn Grace 24:05, #17 Tri-Captain Kathleen Hall 24:07, #40 Victoria Brin 26:05, #52 Matalyn Tabor 27:48, #53 Lydia Ghally 27:49, #55 Dipti Rajbongshi 28:45, #59 Ava Watts 29:56, & #62 Evie Johnson 30:25.
