• When shopping: do not leave presents, GPS units or other valuables in the passenger compartment, secure them in the trunk.  
• If you shop at night remember where your car is parked and park in a well- lit area.  
• Report suspicious persons or activity to police or in the event you are at a mall, notify security.
• If you are shopping alone at a mall or shopping center, ask security to escort you to your car.

Travel

• Keep your car full of gas. Make sure it is well maintained and has snow tires and a winter emergency kit.
• Take a fully charged cell phone and car charger.
• Plan your route in advance and try avoid travel during busy commute times.

Home safety
