Americo's Beauty, Ricci's Cosmetology Academy Graduate Barbara 'Bunny' I. Speglevin Gradasso Passed Away

The former Danbury woman loved hiking, climbing, skiing, fishing, gardening, flowers, a good book, knitting, cooking and watching birds.

DANBURY, CT — Barbara "Bunny" I. Speglevin Gradasso died July 10, 2016 after a very short, brave battle with lung cancer. Bunny was born January 11, 1958 to Benjamin S. and Ella E. (Hooper) Speglevin of Danbury, CT.Bunny graduated from Danbury High School and Americo's Beauty Academy. At one time, she owned her own salon, "Chantal's" on 11 Keeler Street in Danbury.

Moving to New York State in 1989, Bunny did custodial therapeutic foster care for several years. She held various positions, caretaking for an estate and representative for Pampered Chef among them. Returning to Danbury in 2015, Bunny graduated from Ricci's Academy of Cosmetology in 2015. Bunny loved hiking, climbing, skiing, fishing, gardening, flowers, a good book, knitting, cooking and watching birds.

Moving to Tucson, Arizona in December of 2015, she married Robert G. Gradasso, a former classmate from Danbury High School, on January 1, 2016.Bunny was predeceased by her husband Robert G. Gradasso on July 1, 2016.

Bunny is survived by her parents; her two brothers: Benjamin S. Speglevin Jr. and his wife Lisa of Brookfield and Joseph N. Speglevin and his wife Debra; and her three sisters: Merry Carol LaRoche and her husband Kevin, Jill E. Austin and her partner Nicole of Danbury and Chantal E. Detlefs and her husband James of South Salem, NY. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews Ashley, Meghan, Chris, James, Justin, Nicole, Kyle, Melissa, Taylor, Eric and Benjamin whom she loved dearly. Several cousins also survive her as well as her former husband Andrew J. Petersen.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a future date.
