Danbury Cops: Assault on Pregnant Woman

The following information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.

Dwayne Jackson, 45, of Union Avenue, Danbury, was charged on Oct. 2 with third-degree assault on a pregnant person, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor stemming from a domestic incident. He was held on a $5,000 bond for court Wednesday.

Kyle Demo, 21 of Beechwood Drive, Danbury, was charged with failure to obey a traffic signal, operating under suspension, and interfering with the duties of a police officer, after he was observed going through a red light at the intersection of Hospital and Tamarack. The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. Monday. The interfering charge came as a result of Demo running from his vehicle and ignoring police requests to stop. Many vehicles in the area came to quick stop, as more than ten officers were in foot pursuit throughout the area on slick pavement and in Wooster Cemetery at a heavy traffic time.  It was revealed later that Demo was wanted for violation of probation. He was held on a $35,000 bond for court appearance on Wednesday.
