Danbury Detectives Take Whitlock Street Arson Case
When someone poured a plastic bottle of gasoline into a door on Whitlock Street and lit a match Thursday morning, they invited a Danbury Police Department investigation.

The Danbury Police Department's Detective Division will be working with the Danbury Fire Marshal's office on the arson case that occurred early Thursday morning on Whitlock Street.
Fire Marshal James Johnson said Thursday it was first-degree arson, because the person who lit the match set fire to a house with people inside. Johnson said the house had five to seven people inside when the fire broke out.
Johnson said smoke detectors alerted the people inside to the fire, and the people were able to put out the the fire and escape unharmed.
